Camp re:power

Reflect. Reset. Recommit. We’re here for long term liberation.

re:power is your home away from your organizing home. Our camp is a nurturing and resilient space to recharge your power alongside 200 peers in the movement. Gather strength in your community through embodied processing and reignite your purpose in stimulating unconference environments. Join our long-arc approach of power building and boldly recommit to your role as we all create a liberated multi-racial democracy. Are you ready for the Spring?

What is it? 60% Convening. 40% Training.

Camp re:power is a four-day in-person space designed specifically for BIPOC leaders to deepen and strengthen the power of the movement. At Camp re:power “Campers” will come together to reflect, reset, and recommit to the work ahead:

Reflect

on the previous election cycle and cultivate transformative learnings to enrich your path forward. You will have guided somatic experiences to process 2024 to nurture emotional and intellectual regulation.

Reset

your strategies and deepen your organizing and leadership skills. Our workshops provide hands-on learning opportunities from nationally renowned trainers in our five program areas: Grassroots Organizing, Movement Technology, Electoral Justice, Women of Color Leadership, and Progressive Governance.

Recommit

to your purpose and get clarity on your vision. You and your fellow “campers” will leave with a direction forward and momentum, both as individuals and as a collective.

Why now?

As we navigate the rising threat of authoritarianism, the mission of re:power is more important than ever. Our North Star is the emergence of a multiracial democracy through the practices of liberatory organizing—rooted in community, collective action, and abundance. BIPOC organizing is crucial for this future and we will get there with the support of our year-round capacity building programs and our biennial Camp.

Who is it for?

Camp re:power is best suited for BIPOC organizers, campaigners, strategists, technologists, and elected officials with 3+ years of organizing experience, especially women of color and trans and gender expansive people of color.

You may also be:

  • A re:power alum
  • New to re:power
  • Special invitation to folks from the South, Midwest, and local to North Carolina

What will you get out of it?

Reignite your hope
Find your people and learning community
Deepen your organizing skills
Strengthen your leadership
Get clarity on your movement purpose and role
Commitment from re:power as your movement training home

“I think of organizing as a long journey of coming home. My ancestors left their home country and had to rush into the arms of their oppressors due to the destruction caused by imperialism and colonialism. I see this work as an extension of their strength and their fight.”

Scarlett M., Camp re:power 2023 alum

F.A.Q.

Why are there different pricing levels? Which ticket level should I select?

Registration for Camp re:power 2025 will be offered on a sliding scale of $300–$3,000. The highest end of the scale represents the true cost of the program per participant and we ask that our highest-resourced organizations/institutions pay for affiliated registrants at this level which will help lower the barriers to entry for others coming from smaller grassroots organizations.

If you are paying for yourself, you are eligible for the $300 ticket. If an organization is covering your fee, please select the ticket level that corresponds to the organization’s budget.

Please reach out to camp@repower.org if you have any questions.

What does the registration fee cover?

re:power will be covering the cost of the training venue, meals and lodging during the training. Institutions should plan to cover the cost of airfare, meals during travel and ground transportation for their staff/grantees.

What is the lodging/accommodation going to be like? Will we be staying on an actual campsite?

No, we will not be staying in tents. While the vibe will be camp-y, the event and lodging will be taking place at a hotel.

I am interested but need help to convince my boss to let me attend this event. Any pointers?

Sometimes, taking time away from work can feel tricky. Here’s how to make the case to your boss that Camp re:power is a must-attend event and worth the time:

Professional Development: Frame Camp re:power as an opportunity to sharpen your skills and grow as a leader in the movement.
Bring Back the Knowledge: Commit to sharing what you learn through a team presentation or debrief session.
ROI on Connection: Highlight the networking opportunities—connections made here can lead to future collaborations that benefit your organization.

My organization is interested in sending multiple participants to Camp re:power. How do we go about registering for the event?

We’re so glad to hear this! Please contact camp@repower.org and we can help you out with next steps.

Camp re:power is during Ramadan. What support will you provide for Muslim Campers?

We recognize that some of our campers will be fasting to observe this holy month, and we apologize in advance for any disruption this may cause to your experience. This can make it harder to remain engaged and participate fully, and we are consciously exploring ways to offer supportive spaces and adjustments to those observing. If you have any suggestions, please share them with camp@repower.org.

What does “unconference” mean?

An unconference is an emergent, participant-driven space that allows for specialized knowledge to be shared across peers. Some participants will sign up to lead sessions on the topics they feel are more important or ripe for discussion. Others will engage by attending the sessions that matter most to them. Re:power Facilitators will work with all camp participants leading up to our unconference space to provide clarity and support.
