Re:power and re:power Fund are proud to share our new sliding scale—our commitment to ensuring our training spaces are accessible to our entire movement. Each of our program types has a different cost per participant model which is reflected in the different pricing scales. Individuals who are covering their own cost of training are paying the lowest fee, while those are supported by their organization to pay through professional development funds will pay at separate rates.

We trust that you will select the prices that most accurately reflects your situation and is fair and just for you and our organization alike. If you have any questions about this scale, please email info@repower.org.

Payment Policy

Payment of training fees is due within two weeks (10 business days) after being accepted into the program. We cannot guarantee enrollment until payment is received.

If you need to change your payment deadline, we can set up a payment plan of up to three installments. Full payment must be received before your training (for in-person offerings, payment must be received one week before training begins).

How to request a payment plan

Email us at info@repower.org and include:

  • a proposed schedule of payment
  • the amount you will submit for each portion of your payment plan

COVID-19 Policy

We continue to monitor the latest COVID-19 and other public health developments and work to ensure that our in-person trainings and convenings are as safe and accessible as possible. We are following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and will adjust our protocol as needed.

Requirements

As of October 2024, our requirements for attending in-person trainings are as follows:

ALL in-person attendees MUST:

  • Present a negative COVID-19 test result taken the day of and prior to arriving at the training.
  • Agree to daily testing, and present a negative COVID-19 test each day before attending the training. Tests will be provided to participants.
  • Sign and return re:power’s liability waiver

We will collect documentation before the training using an online portal.

DO NOT attend if any of the following is true for you or anyone you have been exposed to:

  • Within 14 days before the training, you have tested positive or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Within 14 days before the training, you have traveled to any international territory identified by federal or applicable state or local governments as being subject to travel or quarantine advisories due to COVID-19.
  • Within 48 hours before the training, you have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g. a fever of 100.4 °F or higher, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking muscle pain/achiness, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, nasal congestion, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue or any other symptoms associated with COVID-19 identified by the CDC).

Testing and reporting results

  • Positive test results must be reported immediately to the re:power event lead, and the participant must follow isolation protocols as per health guidelines.
  • For trainings that last longer than one day, attendees who test positive will not be allowed to return to the training. We will offer reasonable support around lodging and travel logistics.
  • On-site Testing: If you begin to feel sick during the training, additional testing will be available. If the result is positive, you will not be readmitted to the training and we will need to disclose the result to the group.
  • For attendees who test positive before the training begins, any training fees paid in advance can be applied toward a future re:power training, or request a refund. Unfortunately we cannot offer credit towards a future training or refunds for attendees who test positive during a training.
  • All test results will be kept confidential and only shared with relevant personnel on a need-to-know basis. re:power will comply with all applicable privacy laws and regulations.

Other Recommendations

Masks: To limit COVID-19 exposure, we ask that participants wear masks while traveling to the workshop and whenever they are in indoor settings outside the workshop space (i.e. restaurants, stores, etc). Within the workshop space, mask-wearing is not required but is strongly encouraged. Trainers will wear masks when not actively facilitating and will unmask when speaking to the full group. Microphones for amplification may be offered, based on availability at the venue.

COVID-19 vaccination: We strongly recommend that all attendees are fully vaccinated and boosted to help protect themselves and others from the spread

Frequently Asked Questions

General
What do people do with their re:power trainings?

re:power alumni are often already working within the movement as grassroots organizers, campaigners, field directors, digital organizers, data directors, and more. Through re:power trainings, their skills, strategy, and soul for their work is further developed, increasing their capacity to continue their work in our movement. Alumni of re:power and re:power Fund trainings have gone on to become campaign managers, field directors, data directors, non-profit leaders, and more. Alumni have also become trainers for re:power and re:power Fund!

Will I receive copies of the materials I saw during training?

Yes. Copies of the slides, handouts and other supplementary materials will be made available to all trainees in their course Google Folder.

I have a disability/ need support or an accommodation.

We are dedicated to supporting all of our trainees in their learning. If you need accommodation or additional support of any kind, please let us know when you apply or register to a training. You can also email info@repower.org with “Accommodation Request — NAME OF TRAINING” in the subject line. We’ll do what we can to provide a safe and supportive learning experience.

Past requests for support have included, but were not limited to: early access to materials, different colored hand outs, an alternative method for completing quizzes, requesting facilitators speak directly into the camera and more.

In-person Trainings & Convenings
What costs are covered for the training? Do you offer scholarships or other forms of financial assistance?

For in-person trainings and convenings, the costs of lodging and food for all participants are part of the price of registration.

Re:power and re:power Fund do offer limited travel assistance for training participants to offset the cost of airfare, trainfare, or rental cars as needed. Travel assistance is provided through reimbursement only, so participants would need to cover initial costs until reimbursement is provided.

If you work for an organization, please first request that your employer cover the full cost of your travel. We do not cover ground transportation to and from the airport and hotel, or meals during travel.

What are the expectations for participating in an in-person training?

Our in-person trainings are intensive multi-day in-person courses with high expectations for participation. During training sections and breakouts we ask participants to be present, share their reflections and ideas with their peers, and participate in breakout group discussion. Participants may be asked to work in groups to complete group-based assignments. We ask that applicants be ready to commit to attending the full training and be fully engaged throughout.

What’s your COVID-19 policy? What steps should I take before attending an in-person training/convening?

Please refer to our COVID-19 protocol above.

Virtual Trainings
What equipment or software do I need to attend a training?

You will need a technological device capable of connecting to the Internet and downloading files. Windows machines, Macs and Unix boxes all welcome. We will be using Zoom and request that whenever possible, you turn on the video function.

What are the expectations or requirements to participate in a virtual training?

We build our training courses with the busy schedules of activists in mind. Sessions are typically scheduled in the evenings/late afternoons; once or twice weekly for virtual trainings (please refer to individual training for more information). We highly encourage you to participate in each session of the training course, as the material builds each consecutive session. Attending each session live provides the best opportunity to engage in the materials and discussion. Ultimately we understand the complex lives of organizers and people during the time of COVID, and so each session will also be recorded and available afterwards.

Virtual trainings are interactive—we ask participants to remain engaged throughout by responding in the chat box, sharing verbally, and participating in breakout group discussion. Some of our trainings also have homework between training sessions and participants are expected to complete these exercises prior to attending the following session. We understand that folks have a lot going on, so if you are not able to participate in group discussions or the at-home exercises please let the moderator know. We encourage, but do not require, participants to turn on video during breakout discussions.

What if I am unable to attend a virtual session due to a schedule conflict?

All virtual training sessions are recorded and provided to participants, whether they missed a session or not. Participants who miss a virtual session are expected to watch the previous session before attending the next. If you do have to miss a session, please reach out to your training team to let them know.

If you miss multiple sessions during a course, your learning will be impacted. If you need to withdraw from the course for any reason, please contact your training team immediately to work out a plan that supports your learning and life situation.
