An organizer or movement that inspires me:

El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz’s activism radicalized me because he beautifully navigated the interplay of race and religion while holding the title of public enemy #1. He challenged so many to look beyond the borders of America and address the root causes experienced globally.

An organizer or movement that inspires me:

The movement to end money bond was where I found my first movement home. I am inspired by the organizers that work to end mass incarceration and address the root causes of socio-economic and racial inequities within our legal system.

Former Black Panther Party member and Concerned Citizens for Justice organizer Lorenzo Kom’boa Ervin whose actions and writings have inspired generations of Black youth in the Southern Freedom Movement to create the world they want to live in.

The reproductive justice movement inspires me and is where I found my first movement home, when I was working in a reproductive rights organization.

The evolution of black women’s impact through time in all areas of social justice across the globe. Black women have been at the forefront of many fights for justice and I am proud and humbled to be a descendant of this legacy.
