Vote Deficit Calculator

July 25, 2022

Your base is comprised of people who already strongly support your candidate or issue. Since our campaigns don’t have unlimited resources, it is important to figure out how many people outside of your base you need to reach out to in order to win. This calculator will help determine your vote deficit.

In order to calculate this, you’ll need your win number and past election support information going back as far as you can.

Win Number Calculator

July 25, 2022

Since campaigns don’t have an unlimited amount of time or money, it is important to be strategic and use resources efficiently. This is done through targeting, which first requires knowing your Win Number. A Win Number is the amount of votes your campaign needs in order to secure victory, also sometimes known as a vote goal. This calculator will help you determine how many votes you need in order to win if there are only two candidates in the race.

You’ll need information about the current number of registered voters in your electorate, as well as the percentage of voter turnout from the last three similar elections in your district. You can make an educated guess to determine the number of votes necessary to win a campaign.

Equity Informed Targeting

June 7, 2022

Living in a material world means that we don’t have unlimited time, money, or people when it comes to running a campaign. In order to use our resources as efficiently as possible, a vital key to success for any campaign is targeting. Targeting allows us to be more specific about who we’re contacting, whether it’s registering folks to vote, reminding them to turn out for an election, or persuading them to our side.
