WoC 2025 New Workshops & Events

August 26, 2025

For the remainder of 2025, we’re showing up for you in new ways. After listening through focus groups and community surveys, we’re expanding short, low-cost virtual trainings that meet this moment. These offerings are designed to be accessible, supportive, and powerful spaces for women of color to grow, connect, and lead together.

All programs available and free for all women of color re:power alumni

Decolonizing Leadership

September 18, 2025
6:00–8:00 pm ET

Leadership has long been shaped by white dominant cultural practices that stifle imagination, care, and community. In this interactive session, we will unpack ten common leadership styles, identify how white supremacy culture shows up, and explore liberatory practices rooted in BIPOC traditions.

Participants will leave with a clear understanding of their leadership style, practical tools to disrupt harmful norms, and ways to lead authentically from their cultural identities. By reclaiming leadership rooted in care and community, we strengthen our collective capacity to resist authoritarian systems that depend on hierarchy and control.

Gathering Ground

September 25, 2025
6:00–8:00 pm ET

The practice of gathering is itself resistance. In this monthly space, we come together to share community, release stress, and support each other in strategy. Drawing on the wisdom of our ancestors and the traditions that have sustained movements across generations, Gathering Ground is where care and strategy meet.

Participants will leave renewed, more connected, and more prepared to face the challenges of movement work with clarity and resilience. In times when authoritarian forces try to isolate and divide us, choosing to gather and care for one another is a radical refusal to give in.

Emergent Strategy

October 9, 2025
6:00–8:00 pm ET

Emergent strategy teaches us how small, adaptive actions can ripple outward to create lasting change. In this workshop, you will explore the principles of emergent strategy, reflect on your own leadership and organizing, and collaborate with peers to apply these tools to real-world challenges.

You will walk away with a deeper understanding of how to shift from reaction to regeneration, and with concrete strategies to strengthen your organizing work. In a political moment where authoritarianism thrives on rigidity and fear, learning to adapt with creativity and care becomes a powerful act of resistance.

Brain Trust

October 23, 2025
6:00–7:30 pm ET

Have ideas that could help other women of color lead with more clarity and power? Looking for guidance and solidarity as you face your own leadership challenges? Our WOC Brain Trust is a collaborative space where women of color in movement leadership come together to share wisdom, offer support, and strategize solutions.

Through deep listening, inquiry, resonance, and problem-solving, we create the conditions for each participant to leave with clarity and support. By contributing your wisdom and receiving guidance from peers, you will gain new strategies for navigating both personal and professional challenges. Authoritarian systems thrive when leaders are isolated or burned out—brain trusts build the care, connection, and collective power needed to resist.

WoC Program Preview

November 13, 2025
6:00–8:00 pm ET

As we close the year, we invite women of color organizers to come together for reflection, grounding, and connection. This is a chance to be in community, share space, and hear exciting updates about the future of our WoC program in 2026 and 2027.

Participants will leave inspired by shared stories, renewed in their sense of belonging, and energized about what’s next. In a time when fascist forces seek to erase our existence, centering joy, community, and vision for the future becomes an act of resilience and power.

Women of Color Leadership Development Cohort

May 3, 2024

Overview

Women of Color Leadership Cohort is a 7-week cohort experience curated specifically by and for self-identifying women of color (WoC), with learning spaces designed to amplify the unique leadership abilities within women of color while building connections and continued growth. This cohort experience focuses heavily on heart work—an intentional focus on personal development of women of color mentally and emotionally—addressing participants’ holistic needs to step into authentic liberated leadership.

Participants will cultivate a national network of WoC leaders; develop skills in management, and strategy; and practice centering their intersectional identities as leaders, managers, and organizers. The cohort will develop skills and practices that address the needs of WoC in management and leadership roles including addressing root causes and issues, strategic planning, and organizing as a leader. This program will also cultivate spaces for relationship-building, resource-sharing and health and wellness to help participants find sustainability and joy in the work. The experience will culminate in transitioning to coaching, mentoring, and joining re:power’s alumni network.

We will meet twice in person at the beginning and end of the cohort experience, and we request that you read and follow our COVID-19 protocol.

  • Participants should set aside 3 days for each in-person convening
  • To maximize connection and community-building during in-person gatherings, we will not offer a hybrid virtual option.

In between the in-person meetups, we will meet virtually once a week for eight sessions.

  • For the virtual sessions, we ask that participants actively engage by using the chat function, coming off mute to share verbally, and participating in breakout group discussions. If you are able, we strongly encourage participants to turn on video during virtual sessions.
  • Participants should set aside approximately 4 hours a week for coursework—including attending virtual sessions and homework.

We will be meeting in person during this cohort experience. Please read our latest COVID-19 protocol before proceeding with your application.
