Movement Technology Digital Power Series

August 28, 2025

re:power’s new Digital Power Series teaches strategies and best practices to use digital technology to organize our communities, fight fascism and build power both in our communities and across the progressive movement. Each training session is just 60 minutes long, including an exercise to help participants hold the learnings and will be taught by an experienced movement strategist.

This training series will be ongoing. Check out the curriculum overviews for the currently confirmed upcoming trainings below.

Mobile Campaigning

In this Digital Power Series session, you’ll learn how to build and grow your list, craft an effective SMS strategy, tailor messages for different formats, and stay compliant while running campaigns. Walk away with the tools to make text messaging a powerful part of your organizing toolkit.

Rapid Response

This session will guide you through a scenario-based exercise to sharpen your rapid response skills. You’ll learn how to define your theory of change, strengthen your strategy, and pick up tips to extend your team’s capacity when it matters most.

Finding Our People Online

In this session, you will learn how to identify and define your audience, gather the right data to mobilize them, and craft content with an authentic voice. Plus, we will share best practices to move your people from online engagement to real-world action.

Who is this series for?

Whether you have experience in organizing online or not, we are interested in organizers and campaign practitioners who want to rapidly develop their technical skills. You don’t need to be a professional politico, but we’re looking for applicants with experience doing organizing work on the ground.

Ideal applicants come from all walks of life, from seasoned organizers and campaigners looking to sharpen their skills, to beginners who are passionate about organizing and want to start their learning journey.

At re:power, we center race, class, gender and sexuality across all our trainings – it’s part of our practice of inclusive politics. We want organizers to be open to new ideas regarding it and to the ideas and contributions from their fellow organizers who will reflect our diverse communities.

WoC 2025 New Workshops & Events

August 26, 2025

For the remainder of 2025, we’re showing up for you in new ways. After listening through focus groups and community surveys, we’re expanding short, low-cost virtual trainings that meet this moment. These offerings are designed to be accessible, supportive, and powerful spaces for women of color to grow, connect, and lead together.

Decolonizing Leadership

September 18, 2025
6:00–8:00 pm ET

Open to all women of color

Leadership has long been shaped by white dominant cultural practices that stifle imagination, care, and community. In this interactive session, we will unpack ten common leadership styles, identify how white supremacy culture shows up, and explore liberatory practices rooted in BIPOC traditions.

Participants will leave with a clear understanding of their leadership style, practical tools to disrupt harmful norms, and ways to lead authentically from their cultural identities. By reclaiming leadership rooted in care and community, we strengthen our collective capacity to resist authoritarian systems that depend on hierarchy and control.

Gathering Ground

September 25, 2025
6:00–8:00 pm ET

Open to all women of color

The practice of gathering is itself resistance. In this monthly space, we come together to share community, release stress, and support each other in strategy. Drawing on the wisdom of our ancestors and the traditions that have sustained movements across generations, Gathering Ground is where care and strategy meet.

Participants will leave renewed, more connected, and more prepared to face the challenges of movement work with clarity and resilience. In times when authoritarian forces try to isolate and divide us, choosing to gather and care for one another is a radical refusal to give in.

Emergent Strategy

October 9, 2025
6:00–8:00 pm ET

Open to all women of color

Emergent strategy teaches us how small, adaptive actions can ripple outward to create lasting change. In this workshop, you will explore the principles of emergent strategy, reflect on your own leadership and organizing, and collaborate with peers to apply these tools to real-world challenges.

You will walk away with a deeper understanding of how to shift from reaction to regeneration, and with concrete strategies to strengthen your organizing work. In a political moment where authoritarianism thrives on rigidity and fear, learning to adapt with creativity and care becomes a powerful act of resistance.

Brain Trust

October 23, 2025
6:00–7:30 pm ET

Open to women of color re:power alumni only

Have ideas that could help other women of color lead with more clarity and power? Looking for guidance and solidarity as you face your own leadership challenges? Our WOC Brain Trust is a collaborative space where women of color in movement leadership come together to share wisdom, offer support, and strategize solutions.

Through deep listening, inquiry, resonance, and problem-solving, we create the conditions for each participant to leave with clarity and support. By contributing your wisdom and receiving guidance from peers, you will gain new strategies for navigating both personal and professional challenges. Authoritarian systems thrive when leaders are isolated or burned out—brain trusts build the care, connection, and collective power needed to resist.

WoC Program Preview

November 13, 2025
6:00–8:00 pm ET

Open to women of color re:power alumni only

As we close the year, we invite women of color organizers to come together for reflection, grounding, and connection. This is a chance to be in community, share space, and hear exciting updates about the future of our WoC program in 2026 and 2027.

Participants will leave inspired by shared stories, renewed in their sense of belonging, and energized about what’s next. In a time when fascist forces seek to erase our existence, centering joy, community, and vision for the future becomes an act of resilience and power.

Harnessing Your c3 to Build Power

February 25, 2025

Overview

During election campaign season, lots of folks ask questions such as:

  1. What political activities can a c3 engage in, if any?
  2. How close can we get to the line and not be out of compliance?
  3. In what ways can we build power? Demand change and not put our tax status at risk?

If you have some of those questions, join us as we present a practical, principled approach to power building through the utility of c3s and c4s! This training will equip organizers to better navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by working at a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) organization. The training promises to be engaging and informative, leaving you better prepared to achieve your electoral goals through your respective c3 or c4 organizing arms.

P.S. This will not be a legal or compliance training. Instead of telling what you can’t do, the training will focus on the distinction between c3 and c4, what the entities can do, and creative ways to move beyond the limitations to build power for your community and people.

Who is this for?

This course is for:

  • Organizers from all walks of life, from newly engaged to seasoned professionals who want to sharpen their strategy.

What will you learn?

  • Equip organizers to better navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by working at a 501c3 or 501c4 organization
  • Focus on the distinction between c3 and c3
  • what the two entities can do inside your campaigns
  • creative ways to move beyond limitations to build power for your community and your people.

Expectations

This is an interactive course with live practice. We ask participants to write in the chat box, share verbally, and participate in breakout group discussion. During breakouts, all participants will be asked to practice. We encourage, but do not require, participants to turn on video at all times, and especially during breakout discussions. If you are unable or unwilling to practice during breakouts, we ask that you let our Lead Trainer know, and you will not be placed in a breakout room. While we will respect that choice, we offer that this course may not be for you as the bulk of the learning happens in the breakout practice.

Participants should set aside about 2–3 hours a week for coursework—including attending live webinar sessions, and reviewing session pre-work.
